After teasing us last April with the then-upcoming naked bike, Suzuki Philippines has finally taken the wraps off of the 2022 GSX-S1000.
New for 2022
It’s been 6 years since Suzuki launched their naked literbike and hasn’t made any modifications since. For the 2022 model year GSX-S1000, the Hamamatsu-based manufacturer adds a Euro 5-compliant, 999cc powerplant and claims the engine now generates a more linear power across the rev range.
Additionally, the 2022 GSX-S1000 benefits from its throttle-by-wire system and has added Suzuki Intelligent Ride System (S.I.R.S.) with two additional riding modes from the previous one.
The latest version of the Suzuki Clutch Assist System (SCAS) smoothes shifting and engine braking, or give your clutch hand rest with the new Bi-directional Quick Shift system.
For the suspension, the GSX-S1000 is now equipped with fully-adjustable KYB suspension, while Brembo monobloc brake calipers with dual, floating brake rotors provide the bike’s stopping power.
Also new for 2022, the GSX-S1000 enjoys a longer fuel range, thanks to its new 19-liter fuel tank (from 17-liters of the outgoing model), while the lights are all LED. The front seat is now lower, with a height of 810 mm and contributes to the sporty, yet upright riding position which helps reduce riding fatigue.
The new GSX-S1000 will be available in Metallic Triton Blue, Glass Sparkle Black and Glass Matte Mechanical Gray paint schemes – each featuring new logos for the sport’s dominant naked sportbike.
SRP is PhP 710,000.
