VinFast e-Motorcycle pushes battery subscription and swapping in PH
VinFast E-Motorcycle is putting its battery subscription model, battery swapping system, and IP67-rated powertrain at the center of its push into the Philippine electric motorcycle market.
The brand officially launched its local motorcycle lineup in July, opening 21 dealerships in a single day as it introduced the Evo, Feliz II, and Viper to Filipino riders. Two months later, VinFast is continuing to expand its dealer network while promoting the three models as alternatives to conventional gasoline-powered motorcycles.
One of the brand’s main selling points is its battery subscription program, which separates the cost of the motorcycle from the battery. This allows customers to buy the motorcycle at a lower upfront price while paying a low monthly fee for battery use.
The battery subscription starts at PHP 439 per month, according to VinFast E-Motorcycle Philippines. The company also provides battery warranty coverage throughout the subscription period.
For riders considering an electric motorcycle, the arrangement reduces the initial amount needed to purchase the unit. The subscription also shifts battery ownership and related maintenance responsibilities to VinFast under the program.
VinFast is also offering battery swapping for riders who prefer not to wait for the motorcycle to recharge. Where it is available, riders can exchange a depleted battery for a fully charged unit at a designated swapping station.
The system is intended to reduce charging downtime during daily use. VinFast also handles maintenance of the batteries used in the swapping system, allowing riders to use replacement batteries without having to maintain the battery themselves.
The three e-motorcycles also come with IP67-rated protection for their powertrain and electrical components. The rating means the protected components are dust-tight and designed to withstand temporary immersion up to 1 meter of water.
That protection is particularly relevant here in the country, where motorcycles are regularly exposed to heavy rains and flooded roads during the wet season.
The Evo, Feliz II, and Viper are being sold through VinFast E-Motorcycle Philippines’ network of showrooms and authorized dealers as the company continues to build its presence in the local two-wheeler market.
