Kawasaki Ninja H2 Carbon sharpens response with engine, gearing updates for 2027

The Kawasaki Ninja H2 Carbon is getting a round of updates for the 2027 model year (MY), aimed at improving its low to mid rpm response, adding electronic features, and sharpening the riding experience of Kawasaki’s supercharged flagship.

The H2 Carbon retains its potent 998cc supercharged inline-four engine, but Kawasaki has revised the engine tuning and shortened the secondary reduction ratio.

The exhaust system has also been made lighter and more compact. Kawasaki says the combination of the revised engine tuning, gearing, and exhaust gives riders a more direct connection between opening the throttle and the motorcycle’s acceleration.

The H2 Carbon also gains electronic cruise control, allowing riders to maintain a set speed without continuously operating the throttle.

On top of that, Kawasaki has also revised several of the motorcycle’s electronic systems. The Kawasaki Quick Shifter (KQS) can now operate from 1,500 rpm, while the Kawasaki Traction Control (KTRC) has been updated to cover a wider range of riding conditions.

The Kawasaki Launch Control Mode (KLCM) has also been revised with two-stage control intended for closed-course riding. These updates add to the Ninja H2’s existing suite of electronic rider aids and control systems.

The motorcycle continues to use its high-performance suspension setup and Brembo braking hardware, with the updated model receiving Brembo Hypure brake calipers. Kawasaki has also retained the carbon-fiber upper cowl that distinguishes the H2 Carbon from the standard Ninja H2.

For 2027, the motorcycle gets updated silver-mirror paint, along with Kawasaki’s high-durability self-healing paint. The TFT instrument panel has two display modes, including a layout that can display information such as bank angle, pitch angle, and supercharger boost.

The Ninja H2 first arrived in 2015 as Kawasaki’s road-going supercharged flagship. Its engine uses a motorcycle-specific supercharger developed in-house by Kawasaki, drawing on technologies and expertise from across the Kawasaki Heavy Industries Group.

For the 2027 MY, Kawasaki has kept the basic H2 formula intact while focusing its changes on power delivery, gearing, electronics, and rider response rather than introducing a completely new motorcycle.

Kawasaki plans to introduce the updated Ninja H2 Carbon in Japan around Q2 of 2027. Philippine availability is TBA.
