President Rodrigo Duterte is now nursing some hip pain after falling off his motorcycle while riding inside Palace grounds on Wednesday night, October 16. Former SAP and now senator, Bong Go, has told (via text message) reporters today about the minor accident last night.
"Sumemplang kagabi [si President] habang nagmo-motor palabas ng PSG Compound (The President fell off his motorcycle as he was riding out of the PSG Compound)," the senator said in a text message to reporters.
"Sumasakit daw balakang (He was complaining of pain in the hips)," he added.
It is no secret, especially to the motorcycle community, that the President himself is also an avid motorcyclist. Back in the day, the President, then Mayor, frequently rode during the weekends with his motorcycle group in and around Davao, as well as attending the National Motorcycle Conventions held at various locations around the country.
Unfortunately, this recent injury only compounds the Presidents pain as he is also nursing pain from a spinal injury from previous motorcycle accident.
Go later confirmed that the 74-year-old President is well and is resting at Bahay Pagbabago, the President's residence inside the Palace grounds.
