Philippine Red Cross recognizes Honda Philippines for humanitarian efforts

The Philippine Red Cross seeks to recognize Honda Philippines, Inc. for its humanitarian efforts in 2020, when the country was ravaged by a volcanic eruption, typhoons and the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

In honor of this, it is conferring upon Honda the Outstanding Humanitarian Award for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

“We, at Honda, are one with the Philippine Red Cross in providing a helping hand to those in need. With our innovative mindset, we recognize the power of our motorcycles in helping this organization in all its much-needed humanitarian efforts,” said Honda Philippines president and Honda Foundation, Inc., (HFI) board of trustees member, Susumu Mitsuishi.

Bringing help where it's needed

Back in May of 2020, Honda Philippines donated 52 units of TMX125 Alpha and another 52 units of Wave 110 Alpha to the Philippine Red Cross, with a total worth of almost PhP5.2-million. These motorcycles will be distributed to the 104 Philippine Red Cross chapters nationwide and will be used primarily to rapidly transport volunteers and emergency supplies during times of need.

“Honda has always been present in protecting the lives of Filipinos, especially during crises like the Taal Volcano eruption, the current COVID-19 pandemic, and even the series of typhoons. In 67 years of its trustworthy services, Honda Philippines, Inc. has been supportive of the Philippine Red Cross for a decade now,”  Mitsuishi added.

The donation project is in line with Honda’s One Dream campaign, which aims to make Honda motorcycles an essential tool in saving lives and helping institutions like the Philippine Red Cross by enabling the group to respond rapidly during crises.
