3 years ago, Suzuki unveiled their most adventure-riding-oriented V-Strom to date, the 1050XT. 3 years later at the Makina Moto Show, Suzuki Motorcycles Philippines is proud to take the covers off of the new and improved V-Strom 1050DE to the delight of their Pinoy fans.
1050XT vs 1050DE
While the outgoing 1050XT and the new 1050DE have the same engine and may look similar at first glance, Suzuki actually made a few upgrades to make the “DE” a more desirable adventure bike than the “XT”.
For example, Suzuki swapped the XT’s 19-inch front wheel for a much off-road-oriented 21-inch wire wheel. Suzuki also updated the DE’s electronic riding aids for off-roading with the Gravel mode and the rear ABS can now be shut off. A 5-inch TFT screen also replaces the XT’s LCD.
Other improvements include longer suspension travel than the XT, wider handlebar, longer swingarm, and a large aluminum skid plate that now comes as a standard feature.
The new Suzuki V-Strom 1050DE will be available in 3 color variants starting with Champion Yellow, Pearl Blue/White, and Glass Metallic Black. The SRP of the new V-Strom 1050DE is PHP 899,000.
