Last October at the Tokyo Motor Show, Kawasaki unveiled the most powerful naked bike they've ever created – the Z H2. As the name suggests, it is basically the H2 “stripped naked”, powered by the same supercharged 998 cc inline-four in the H2 and the H2R, tweaked to be a bit tamer than its supersports brothers.
This weekend at the 6th Ilocos Sur Invitational Ride held in Vigan, we were able to sit down with one of our friends from Kawasaki Motors Philippines, Mr. Henry Raquedan. He indulged us with a discussion about the upcoming Kawasaki motorcycle models that are about to hit the showrooms this coming year. What got us really excited was his revelation about the Z H2.
“It [Z H2] will be coming in 3 to 4 months,” said Raquedan in Filipino. This new bike from Kawasaki is really something to be excited about, especially for those who want to feel the power of a supercharged motorcycle but in an upright, naked package. When asked about the price, they (Kawasaki) can't yet comment as many details are yet to be finalized.
Besides the Z H2, we asked Kawasaki Philippines about their other plans, especially for fans of smaller displacements. Another model we brought up was the newest 250cc inline-four “screamer”, the ZX-25R. Kawasaki Motors Philippines will update us as soon as they can if and when it will be landing on our shores.
KLX 300R
To satiate our appetites for the mean time, new KLX dirtbikes and big bikes such as the Z H2 will be hitting the showrooms pretty soon. Exciting times ahead.
