Michelin holds contest for cruisers, scramblers, and electric motorcycles

Are you a professional or amateur bike builder who dreams of making it to EICMA? Michelin is now giving you an opportunity, no matter where you are in the world. The French tire manufacturer has launched its first “Design Your Motorcycle” challenge, and it’s open to entries from around the world. You have until July 8, 2019 to join. That gives you only a couple of days.

Michelin’s aim is to promote its tires on high-quality custom builds. The three categories are: Cruiser Style, Scrambler Vibes, and Bike to the Future. Cruiser Style will feature “motorcycle brands that are typically customized, such as Harley Davidson, Triumph and Indian.” Scrambler Vibes will cover trendy dual sports, and Bike to the Future will feature electric motorcycles with forward-thinking designs and technologies.

50% of the final score will be based on online voting, while the other 50% will be awarded by professional judges. The three winners will receive the following prizes: an exclusive partnership with Michelin as brand ambassador for one year, a set of Michelin tires, and (mandatory) participation in EICMA.

One person can enter only one build. The competition is also open to legal entities or organizations, with one entry per participant. Any entry that disregards Michelin’s contest rules or is incomplete, erroneous, falsified, or inaccurate will be disqualified. An entry does not need to wear Michelin tires, but it does need to be able to accommodate them, and competing tire brand names must not be visible in the submitted photographs.

Please visit the official competition website for more details on the rules and registration instructions. Best of luck to all the builders!
