Are you a motorcycle rider (or driver) that frequents the intersection of Aurora BLVD and G. Araneta Avenue for work, delivery or just about anything? If you frequently travel at night, you better find an alternative route. Starting tonight at 11 PM, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will close this intersection to give way for the installation Skyway Stage 3 Project's girders, or the large beams, used for the elevated tollway.
The MMDA also said that the intersection's closure will affect approximately 17,000 to 18,000 vehicles daily. From tonight until August 22, this intersection will be completely closed to all traffic from 11:00 PM to 5:00 AM daily.
If you're coming from Shaw Boulevard / V. Mapa, head straight towards Magsaysay Blvd. then Santol Street, right at Palanza, Landargun or Bayani Road, and then left at G. Araneta to your destination. Take the route in reverse if you're headed the other way.
Motorcycles coming from Cubao headed towards Manila area are to turn right at Guirayan St., left at Palanza, left at Tomas Arguelles St. or Santol St. to Magsaysay Blvd. and continue on to their destination.
Those coming from N. Domingo and Blumentritt are to take e F. Roman, H. Lozada St. and J. Ruiz St. Lastly, vehicles coming from the north, along C-3 Sgt. Rivera should turn right at Bayani, Landargun and Palanza St., left at Santol St., left at Magsaysay Blvd., and take V. Mapa, Old Sta. Mesa towards their destination. Or better yet, just use Google Maps or Waze to find the fastest alternate routes to your destination.
