Yamaha unveils newest 150cc XSR naked bike

Earlier this year, MotoPinas.com was the first to break news on the XSR 155’s arrival in the Philippines. Unfortunately, the complications brought about by the coronavirus outbreak had delayed its arrival. Now, it's finally here.

Yamaha Motor Philippines has officially launched the XSR 155 through its first-ever virtual launch, hosted by Drew Arellano. Like what we previously wrote, the XSR 155’s SRP is PhP162,000.

Launched last August 2019 in Thailand, the new XSR 155 will be available locally in two colors: Garage Metal (silver/black) and Tech Black (matte black, above) color schemes. It is powered by a 155.1cc liquid-cooled engine with Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) mated to a six-speed gearbox. It comes with a slipper clutch system that enables smooth downshifting, reducing engine braking. It's finished off with a sporty exhaust pipe.

Staying true to the classically-styled Yamaha motorcycles before it, the XSR 155 also features a classic-round headlight with built-in daytime running lamps and LED tail light, leather seat, and a drip-shaped fuel tank that can hold up to 10 liters of fuel. For a touch of modernity, the XSR comes with a single digital multi-function speedometer.

For its chassis, the XSR 155 uses a delta box design that is usually reserved for performance motorcycles. An inverted fork for the front and mono-shock absorber for the rear will handle the bumps on the road. Braking is handled by front and rear disc brakes.

Yamaha also promises that the XSR 155 will be “custom friendly.” A full range of custom upgrade parts will be available at all Yamaha 3S shops nationwide. The Yamaha XSR155 is now available at all authorized Yamaha dealers.
