We all know that long before assuming the top seat in the country, President, Rodrigo Duterte, has always been an avid motorcyclist and is one of the founding members of the On Any Sunday riding club based in Davao City.

Unfortunately, being a Head of State has taken its toll on the President’s health, coupled with the fact that he is not getting any younger, PRRD had to postpone his riding activities for a long time.

Now, just a few days before stepping down as the 16th President, PRRD was seen riding a Can-Am Ryker 600 around Digos City, Davao del Sur.

“Karon og di nako Presidente, wa gyuy magbuot nako. Mag-motor ko o suroy-suroy ko,” told Duterte in local dialect.

(Now that I won’t be President anymore, nobody can dictate what I do. I will go riding a motorcycle or go around.)

On May 6, 2022, during his speech at the miting de avance of the Hugpong sa Tawong Lungsod-Hugpong ng Pagbabago led by his youngest son, Davao City mayor-elect and incumbent Vice Mayor Sebastian Duterte, PRRD said that he will be back riding motorcycles again once he steps down as President to hunt criminals like he used to do during his days as mayor of Davao City.

PRRD will step down from Malacañang on June 30, 2022.
