About a year ago, MotoPinas.com covered the official global launch of the Suzuki Gixxer 250, and its fully-faired variant, the Gixxer 250SF, at the 2019 Tokyo Motor Show. Originally designed and manufactured by Suzuki Motorcycle India for the Indian domestic market, these bikes are now destined for the global market.

This weekend, Suzuki Philippines virtually launched these exciting motorcycles for the Philippine market. As you can tell, both bikes will share the same platform, with the main difference being the headlight and amount of fairing.
The centerpiece of both the Gixxer 250 and the Gixxer 250SF is the engine. They're powered by an air and oil-cooled, 249cc single-piston Suzuki Eco Performance (SEP) engine with a single overhead cam (SOHC) that produces 26.5 PS of power at 9,000 rpm and 22.6 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm.
Suzuki's Oil Cooling System (SOCS), which uses an oil cooler fan and oil-cooling radiator, has also been fitted in both bikes for improved oil flow. These cool the engine more efficiently. They also claim that both bikes were able to achieve average fuel consumption of 38.5 km/L yet still producing more power and cleaner emissions.
Both the Gixxer 250 and the Gixxer 250SF boast of a high-rigidity frame, 7-step adjustable rear suspension, and dual-channel ABS.
The rider can see vital trip info on its fully-digital instrument panel which integrates a digital speed read-out, gear indicator, and dual trip meters.
The Gixxer 250 comes in Metallic Matte Black with an SRP of ₱165,000. The fully-faired Gixxer 250SF will come in a special edition Triton Blue and Silver (Suzuki Team Ecstar livery) and will be retailed at ₱175,000.
According to Suzuki, both the Gixxer 250 and the Gixxer 250SF will be available this coming December.
