SMC Tollways opens new Skyway Stage 3 exit

SMC Tollways, together with the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), has recently opened Skyway Stage 3’s Quirino southbound exit. The new exit will cut the usual 1 hour travel time from Balintawak, North Luzon Expressway (NLEX), to Quirino Avenue in Manila to just 20 minutes or even less.

“The opening of the Quirino southbound exit will greatly improve accessibility from Quezon City and Manila. With more private vehicles diverted to Skyway Stage 3 on their way back from NLEX, or coming from Quezon Ave., to Manila, traffic on our major public roads as well as on streets usually utilized as ‘short cuts’ or ‘alternate routes’, will be a thing of the past. This will redound to relief from congestion and faster and easier commutes for many of our countrymen on our major thoroughfares,” said Ramon Ang, president and COO of San Miguel Corporation.

To date, there are a total of 15 operational ramps along Skyway Stage 3. So far, use of the 18-kilometer elevated megastructure is still free of charge and will remain free until the Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) decides on how much the actual toll fees will be.
