The Department of Transportation (DOTr), through its attached agency, the Land Transportation Office (LTO) and its Assistant Secretary, Edgar Galvante, has announced the suspension of the Motorcycle Taxi Pilot Study Program amid the looming threat from the novel coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19).

“Multiple bookings for a single trip provided by Transport Network Vehicle Service (TNVS) and the Pilot Implementation of Motorcycle Taxi shall be suspended,” said Asec. Galvante.

This is in accordance with the Inter-Agency Task Force on the Emerging Infectious Diseases's (IATF-EID) Resolution number 12 dated March 13, 2020, general guidelines in the implementation of the “community quarantine” on the entire NCR. It also encourages the citizenry to practice social distancing to prevent the further spread of the COVID-19.
