Following its unveiling at the recently concluded EICMA in Italy last month, Swedish motorcycle company, Husqvarna Motorcycles, has confirmed that their concept adventure bike, the Norden 901, has been greenlit for production.

According to Husqvarna, the Norden 901 will be a key addition to their lineup and that the move underlines the company's “growing commitment to the street segment” of motorcycles.

If some parts of it look familiar, it should come as no surprise as KTM owns Husqvarna Motorcycles. Just by looking at the Norden 901, the design cues are obviously heavily influenced by KTM's 790 Adventure bike, while the engine could be a shared one from KTM's 890 Duke R Super Scalpel.

The Norden also boasts adventure-oriented 21/18-inch wheels for the front and rear, high-end WP suspension components, top-notch electronic rider aids and a whole lot more.

Will we get it here in the Philippines?

Our friends from Adventure Cycle Philippines Inc., distributors of KTM in the Philippines, have not confirmed nor denied the possibility of Husqvarna's comeback in the country. However, social media posts from their key executives who attended EICMA in Italy might reveal some clues. The executives sat on some of the Husqvarna motorcycles displayed in the show, as well as shared Husqvarna-related news on their respective social media accounts.

Whatever the case, having more and more motorcycle marques landing on our shores not only shows our country's growing economy but also shows a motorcycle community that's becoming a formidable force day by day.
