City of Manila closes several bridges in celebration of Chinese New Year

In celebration of this year’s Chinese New Year, the City of Manila has announced several road closures that will take effect on 12:01 AM, January 21, 2023.

According to Manila’s Public Information Office (PIO), the newly-built, PHP 3.39-billion  Binondo-Intramuros Bridge will be closed to all traffic starting at 12:01 AM of January 21, up until the conclusion of the Chinese New Year celebrations.

Additionally, the historic Jones Bridge will also be closed on January 21, 2023. The southbound side of Jones Bridge going to Intramuros will be closed to the public starting at 7:00 PM, while the northbound side going to Binondo will be closed starting at 10:00 PM.

This is to give way to the Chinese New Year Countdown Pyromusicals to be viewed at these bridges.

The public is advised to take alternate routes.
