The BGC-Ortigas bridge is nearing completion. The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is proud to report on the progress of the ongoing construction of the BGC-Ortigas bridge that will soon cut travel time from Taguig to Pasig to just 12 minutes.

According to Build, Build, Build chairperson, Anna Mae Lamentillo, the new, 440-meter bridge is expected to be completed by 3rd quarter of this year. They're looking at the possibility of partially opening it as early as May 2021.

That means, in just a few months, motorists will no longer need to cross the Pasig River through EDSA or C5, but just ride through Lawton Avenue to cross Pasig City.

Also, the new bridge is estimated to take at least 25% of vehicle volume from both EDSA and C5, amounting to roughly 72,000 vehicles.
