That was close!

As of this writing, there are more than a million hectares of land that have been scorched by wildfires in Australia. The wildfire has also claimed millions of dollars worth of property damage, as well as countless wildlife. One rider, captured the moment on his action cam as he barely escaped with his life on his Honda Africa Twin adventure bike.

Ben Hannan, who uploaded the video on Facebook after his heart-pumping experience, was also seen in the video helping a fellow motorist escape the fire by moving trees that were felled by the fire. His mother had escaped ahead of him with their 3 cats, their car. Hannan was left to ride for his life to save himself.

The massive flames have destroyed everything they have. Unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately), he still has the Africa Twin.

“I’d moved home six years ago after dad died so mum didn’t have to leave our home,” Ben said during an interview. “Two days after, all 130 acres, two homes and 90 percent of our animals burned was the anniversary of his death. It’s not home anymore. We’ve nothing to go back to but ash.”

To help the Hannans, one of Ben's friends has recently set up a GoFundMe page in the hopes of raising funds for their recovery efforts. So far, the fundraising campaign has reached $5,210.
