Triumph introduces new MX bike TF 250-X

2 years ago, Triumph Motorcycles announced that the company was embarking on a very ambitious project to create a lineup of competition motocross (MX) bikes. In fact, Triumph tapped the services of MX legend, Ricky Carmichael, and five-time Enduro World Champion, Iván Cervantes, to the company develop its upcoming dirt bike range.

Now, Triumph presents the TF 250-X MX bike, which, according to the company, “has class-leading power-to-weight ratio and the highest specification components,” in the world of MX bikes.

“The launch of the TF 250-X is the culmination of a significant commitment and investment from Triumph, to not just bring a totally new bike to the motocross world, but to deliver a winning performance. To achieve this, we are focused on delivering the most complete package for any riding level, from champion to amateur,” said Triumph Motorcycles’ Chief Product Manager, Steve Sargent.

“This bike is 100% Triumph, conceived, designed, developed and manufactured by our world-leading chassis and engine teams, with expert support from our racing champions. We started with a blank sheet of paper and began an all-new ground-up design, including a new engine, new chassis and new electronics,” added Sargent.

As mentioned by Sargent, the TF 250-X was developed from scratch, from ground up. At the heart of the TF 250-X is a compact and lightweight 250cc 4-stroke liquid-cooled engine with forged aluminum piston and titanium valves. The engine also boasts lightweight magnesium covers and an Exedy Belleville clutch. The engine is mated to a 5-speed transmission.
