LTO Pasay is offering FREE theoretical driving courses in March

Since the passing of RA 10930, new driver’s license applicants, as well as student permit applicants were required by the Land Transportation Office to attend a mandatory Theoretical Driving Course (TDC). The driving seminars were conceived in response to then-president, Rodrigo Duterte’s call for more stringent driver education and license issuance.

The agency has faced criticism over the number of drivers that acquired licenses from fixers but were not educated about our land’s traffic laws. Many believe this lack of education is the cause of undisciplined and reckless driving on the streets.

Unfortunately, this requirement meant that applicants need to shell out a few thousand pesos to fulfill this requirement via LTO’s accredited driving schools, which is too much for many Filipinos.

Good news: the LTO, although with limited capacity, offers TDC for FREE. For those who wish to take advantage of this free TDC seminar, the LTO Pasay Licensing Office has opened up all Thursdays and Fridays of March for the free TDC for Student Permit applicants.

The dates will be as follows: March 2 & 3, March 9 & 10, March 16 & 17, March 23 & 24; and March 30 & 31, 2023. Take note that all sessions will be between 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the LTO Pasay Licensing Center, just in front of NAIA Terminal 4.
