One of the things that we realized during the COVID-19 pandemic is that motorcycle riders can no longer travel to the many beautiful travel destinations. This is of course due to government-imposed travel restrictions.
Thankfully, as the majority of the general population got vaccinated against COVID, the country is now slowly reopening the economy and has also allowed unhampered travel to those who got their jabs.
In fact, the Department of Tourism (DOT) has tapped the motorcycle community to help reinvigorate local tourism via the Philippine Motorcycle Tourism (PMT) program.
To help you decide where to travel, whether with a group or just riding solo, the DOT has also listed these travel destinations where a fully-vaxxed rider and pillion can travel without being asked by authorities to turn back.
For those who are planning to visit popular destinations in Baguio, Ilocos Sur, Ilocos Norte, Pangasinan, Aurora, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Subic Freeport Zone in Zambales, Tarlac, Batangas (with the exception of the town of Tingloy), Cavite, Laguna (except the town of Paete), Quezon, Rizal, Albay, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Masbate, Sorsogon, and Oriental Mindoro, your travel should not be hindered as long as you are fully-vaccinated.
For provinces like La Union, Bataan, Zambales, Occidental Mindoro, Palawan, Island of Romblon, and the Island of Catanduanes, a negative antigen test result is required on top of the vaccination ID/certificate.
Similarly in Luzon, almost all provinces are now open to fully-vaxxed individuals with the exception of the Island of Siquijor as they also require a negative antigen test result on top of the vaccination ID/certificate.
If your budget and time permits it, you can now enjoy riding to the beautiful Mindanao as a fully-vaccinated rider as the provinces of Zamboanga del Sur, Bukidnon, Cagayan de Oro, Island of Camiguin, Lanao del Norte, Misamis Occidental, Misamis Oriental, Davao de Oro, Davao del Norte, Davao del Sur, North Cotabato, South Cotabato, Sarangani, and Sultan Kudarat welcomes you with only a vaccination card as a requirement for entry.
Other Mindanao localities not on the list, are either requiring a negative antigen test result or a negative RT-PCR test result on top of your vaccination card upon entry.
