Bajaj Wego P5009 offers up to 212-km range, 4.5-hour charging
Bajaj Auto Philippines has introduced the new Wego P5009 electric three-wheeler, offering up to 212 kilometers of claimed range, four driving modes and a starting price of PHP 329,888.
The Wego P5009 is powered by a 9.2 kWh battery paired with a 4.5 kW electric motor. Bajaj says the combination is designed for everyday routes, with the vehicle offering Eco, Power, Climb and Park Assist modes for different driving conditions.
A full charge takes around 4.5 hours through its supplied 2.2 kW charger, according to the company. The claimed 212-km range is based on a full battery charge, although actual range can vary depending on factors such as load, driving conditions and usage.
One of the Wego P5009’s main selling points is its claimed running cost. Based on a 9.216 kWh battery, an electricity rate of PHP 15 per kWh and the claimed 212-km range, Bajaj calculates an operating cost of approximately PHP 0.80 per kilometer.
That figure is a theoretical calculation based on the stated electricity rate and range, rather than a guaranteed real-world cost.
The Wego P5009 is being offered at an introductory price of PHP 329,888. The battery, motor and vehicle are covered by a 36-month or 50,000-kilometer warranty, whichever comes first.
Bajaj is positioning the electric three-wheeler for users with different mobility requirements, including daily earners, businesses and local government units.
For commercial users, the company is promoting the lower claimed energy cost as a way to reduce day-to-day operating expenses. Businesses can also use the vehicle for regular transport and delivery operations, while LGUs can consider it as part of their efforts to modernize local transportation.
The Wego P5009 is currently available for purchase and inquiries through 38 Bajaj 3S Shops nationwide.
