BMW Motorrad will not participate in this year's EICMA, Intermot

BMW Motorrad announced that they will not participate in the upcoming 2020 Intermot in Germany and EICMA motorcycle show in Italy. This is due to the unpredictability brought about by the coronavirus pandemic.

“Due to the hardly foreseeable development of the coronavirus pandemic and its effects, BMW Motorrad will not be participating in the two leading motorcycle shows Intermot in Cologne in October and EICMA in Milan in November in 2020,” said BMW Motorrad in a press statement.

BMW Motorrad has also added that the decision was made in order to counteract current planning uncertainty at an early stage, as well as for the benefit of their partners and suppliers who will be involved in these BMW Motorrad motorshow appearances. This was all done in the interests of the greatest possible security, predictability, and transparency.

BMW Motorrad reiterated, however, that they will be present at the world premieres and product highlights planned for both motorcycle shows on alternative platforms in autumn 2020. In doing so, the company will increasingly rely on its own formats and digital communication channels.
