BMW partners with 3T to create a trendy urban gravel bike

BMW and Italian bike manufacturer 3T announce a collaboration to deliver sheer cycling pleasure to BMW customers, as they create the 3T for BMW.

“3T was a natural choice for us, as 3T’s Exploro model is the best gravel bike available combining performance, luxury and cycling pleasure to our customers,” said Gaston Streiger, Head of BMW Lifestyle division. Characterized by sharp silhouettes and precise lines, the new gravel bike seamlessly aligns with the minimalistic BMW design and perfectly fits into the overall lifestyle product range.

The 3T for BMW bikes will be made from an aerodynamic carbon frame, carbon aero cranks that are also made in 3T's Italian carbon composites factory, Brooks leather saddle with matching Brooks leather grips, Fulcrum alloy wheels and resistible Schwalbe One Speed tires, and a Shimano GRX group set.

“We are extremely proud that BMW selected 3T to partner exclusively on the creation of the special 3T for BMW bike. BMW delivers ‘sheer driving pleasure’ to customers and with the 3T for BMW bike, we aim to deliver the same all-road biking experience,” said René Wiertz, co-owner and CEO of 3T.

The 3T for BMW will be retailed at $5,499 or roughly PhP284,000. While locally, motorcycle makers typically follow a PhP1,000 per 1 cc rule, the price of this bicycle is almost the same as BMW's own G310 GS which is at PhP300,000. Add PhP75,000 and you can get a 650cc Kawasaki Z650 (PhP375,000).

Is this PhP300k, 0cc, human-powered bike worth its price?
