Triumph’s middleweight adventure model, the Tiger 900, has just been upgraded with the new GT Pro and Rally Pro variants.
Dating all the way back to 1936, the Tiger name has long been associated with racing, rallies, and the birth and boom in adventure travel. The Tiger 900 lineup is based on the ‘Tiger Tramontana’ rally model developed in 2018 and tested in the grueling Pan-Africa rally.
Triumph Tiger 900 Rally Pro
The new lineup is now powered by a higher capacity and higher performance 900cc with more peak power and torque than the previous Tiger 800 models.
The three-cylinder 900cc engine is now fully Euro 5 compliant, delivering 95-PS peak power at 8,750rpm and 87-Nm at 7,250rpm. This is paired with a 6-speed transmission with a slip and assist clutch for added rider comfort. It’s cooled down by an all-new twin radiator set up with reduced coolant volume, designed to improve the center of gravity and weight distribution and balance.
It’s mounted on a new steel trellis frame with a bolt-on aluminum rear sub-frame and bolt-on pillion hangers. Keeping it aloft are premium Marzocchi (GT Pro) or Showa (Rally Pro) suspension components depending on the variant. Brembo Stylema brakes bring it to a stop.
Loaded with tech
The Tiger 900 GT Pro and Rally Pro are fitted with a whole range of top-shelf standard equipment for a more enjoyable ride, convenience and confidence on the road. Both are equipped with a 7-inch TFT instrument cluster with customizable displays for high or low contrast and excellent visibility. They also come with the My Triumph connectivity system and app to link to the phone for call, music, navigation, and GoPro control all via the switch cubes. The controls themselves have illuminated switches with a 5-way joystick, electronic cruise control, and heated grips.
They also come with optimized cornering ABS and traction control, with an Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) for better control in a variety of situations, even while leaning.

Both come with 5 riding modes: Rain, Road, Sport, Off-Road, and a Rider-configurable mode. The Rally Pro features an additional mode: Off-Road Pro.
The headlight, tail light and indicators on all new Tiger 900 models are now LED powered for maintenance-free active safety. The headlight features Triumph’s signature shape DRL for enhanced visibility in all lights. The GT Pro and Rally Pro models can be optioned with LED auxiliary fog lights for additional long distance capability.
Finally, both have unique-in-segment heated seats (with separate pillion control) and a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS).
