IR Bike Fest: Zontes

Adventure bikes are typically prohibitively expensive. As such, it was refreshing to see a very affordable offering from Zontes.

Unveiled at the 13th Inside Racing Bike Fest and Trade Show was the Zontes T310, a budget-friendly adventure bike.

The T310 joins other Zontes offerings, the X310 sport bike and R310 naked bike, all based on the same platform and powertrain.

The T310 is built on a high-tensile steel frame. It features typical adventure styling hallmarks like the beak-style front fender, high windscreen, and high ground clearance. Accessories typically sold as optional extras, like side protector bars, handlebar protectors, and a bottom bash plate, are fitted as standard on the T310.

It's powered by a 311.7cc liquid-cooled, DOHC 4-valve single cylinder. This is then paired to a six-speed transmission. It produces 35.4 PS at 9,500 rpm and 30 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm. It's brought to a stop with front and rear discs with ABS as standard. It 's equipped with upside down forks in front and a monoshock in the rear. It tips the scales with a wet weight of 159 kg.

As for performance, Zontes claims it can reach a top speed of 150 km/h and average 31.25 km/L. It has a 15-liter tank to give it some respectable range.
