Yamaha Motor Vietnam Co., Ltd. is celebrating the 5th anniversary of the introduction of Blue Core engines with a ride called the ASEAN Blue Core Touring Journey. The multi-nation tour had participants ride across 5 countries in ASEAN to experience and explore the different terrain and conditions in each country to affirm the outstanding power and performance of Blue Core engines on the new Yamaha scooters. Participants will be touring these countries with the message, “Less Gas, More Power,” the same key goals behind the development of Blue Core engine technology.
Participating riders will use the new generation of Yamaha Vietnam scooters like the Grande, Latte, FreeGo (Mio Soul i), Janus and NVX (Mio Aerox). The Blue Core Touring Journey was divided into 2 stages. The first stage was a Blue Core Tour in Vietnam, composed of 5 groups, each with 10 members of professional riders. The 5 groups started from 5 Vietnamese cities: Hanoi, Da Nang, Dak Lak, Ca Mau and gathered in Ho Chi Minh City. The journey took place from September 23 to September 26.
The second stage was the ASEAN Blue Core Touring Journey, with the best riders of the Vietnam leg exploring 5 member countries of the ASEAN region. The second leg started on September 27 in Veitnam. Riders then headed to Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines.
Our country recently hosted the conclusion last Oct. 9, 2019, where they paid a visit to the country’s flagship store, Yamaha YZone in Greenfield in Mandaluyong for the concluding Blue Core Conference.
History of Blue Core
The Blue Core engine was first developed for the benefit of customers that ride their motorcycles in the city daily. In 2014, Yamaha introduced the first generation of Blue Core engines with: enhanced combustion efficiency of fuel mixture; reducing power consumption; and controlled the fuel source. This goals guided the creation of new generation engines with the perfect balance between fuel efficiency, engine power, environmental friendliness as well as high applicability and adaptability into many vehicles. The innovation allowed the engine to save 50% more fuel than the old generation engine, return smooth and durable operation, boast of a compact design, and remain easy to use.
After 5 years of development, the current Blue Core engine is now one of the leading technologies applied on Yamaha's new generation scooters. The new Blue Core engines now feature reduced weight; a smart motor generator for smooth starting; quieter, stronger acceleration; and optimum fuel efficiency.
