Yamaha updates its dual-sport lineup with the addition of the WR155R. Designed to operate on both dirt and asphalt roads, the WR155R boasts of heavy duty construction and precision control on any surface.
Powering the new model is a 155cc liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine. It features VVA (variable valve actuation) to provide optimum performance at both low and high speeds. It’s paired with a 6-speed transmission.
Yamaha’s WR-series stands for wide-ratio gearbox, specifically designed for endure and trail rides. Additionally, it’s fitted with an 8.1-liter fuel tank for longer rides.
The WR155R is built on a semi double cradle frame. It’s held aloft by 41mm upright front forks with coil springs and dampers. Behind is a linked type Monocross rear suspension system with a gas-charged shock absorber.
It rolls on aluminum wheels with dual-purpose tires. Bringing it to a stop are wave style disc brakes.
For the rider, it has a compact LCD instrument panel that includes a tachometer, speedometer, odometer, trip meter, fuel gauge, clock, fuel mileage readout, gear position indicator, and VVA indicator. It comes with a hazard lamp switch. It’s also fitted with a flat seat to allow the rider to alter his riding position depending on the terrain.
The WR155R is now available in a choice of blue or black colors. It’s priced at PhP169,000 and is available at YZone and Yamaha Rev Zones nationwide.
