GG Retrofitz is a young California-based company made up of industrial and graphic designers who are also sport bike enthusiasts. Last year, the company launched its first body kit, the Rocket Street. The GG Retrofitz Rocket Street body kit provides bolt-on panels that easily transform a 2015-2018 Yamaha YZF-R3 or R25 into a retro-custom road racer.

The GG Retrofitz Rocket Street fiberglass body kit comes with full fairings, a fuel tank cover, rear cowl, and the necessary mounting hardware — including an adjustable headlight bracket and windscreen support bracket. It has already made its way around the world. A wonderful example would be the upgraded YZF-R25 in Japan by the custom motorcycle shop 9-GATE, featuring an Inter Color livery inspired by the 1978 YZR500 race bike.
There is no need to modify the chassis and suspension of the Yamaha YZF-R3 or R25 to accommodate the Rocket Street body kit. All you need is to source your own clip-on handlebars and a 7-inch universal round headlamp. GG Retrofitz also offers an optional H4 bulb wiring adaptor.

The Rocket Street bodywork was designed by GG Retrofitz using a traditional two-step method. The concept sketches were hand-drawn and the shapes were hand-carved onto a full-scale clay model. The finished product is a lightweight 6 kg body kit that shaves 4 kg off the vehicle’s entire wet weight.
The GG Retrofitz website also features instructional videos that teach customers how to swap out the factory bodywork and handlebars of the Yamaha R3 and R25 as well as assemble the Rocket Street kit. GG Retrofitz sells the Rocket Street body kit for $1,198 and ships internationally. The company’s own vinyl graphic sticker kits are sold separately.
