The Italian brand has been busy working on a new version based on their new V4 engine. The release of this new teaser video could serve as a hint that it is nearing completion.

The new Superleggera, called Project 1708, will be based on the current Panigale V4 but making more extensive use of carbon fiber components, fairing and wheels as well as a titanium exhaust system. In addition to trimming down its weight, the Superleggera will also produce more power. Some speculations suggest it could produce an estimated 234 hp, 10 hp more than the entry-level Panigale V4. Best of all, it will tip the scales at just 147 kg.

Finally, the V4 Superleggera will be limited to 500 units. As expected, this limited run will be expensive, with a rumored US$100,000 (PhP5.1M) price tag. The last Superleggera was limited to 500 units and priced at US$80,000 (PhP4.1M).

So, if money is no object, would you get a BMW HP4 Race or this?
