Rossi and Dainese team up for charity track session

Ever wanted to ride with The Doctor in the Misano Circuit in Italy onboard a Yamaha R1? Dainese can make that dream can come true. The rider apparel brand is holding an auction for charity in which the winning bids earn their donors a chance to ride with Valentino “The Doctor” Rossi. The charity event is called the "Scendi in pista con Valentino Rossi," and proceeds will go to the Fondazione Marco Simoncelli. It's the charity foundation of MotoGP rider, Marco Simoncelli, who tragically passed away after an accident during a MotoGP race in Sepang, Malaysia in 2011.

Interested parties must submit a bid to the Charity Stars site. Four winning bidders will be drawn and will have the chance to spend the day with Valentino Rossi. During that day, they will take part in the Dainese VR46 Class which will be composed of a 15-minute theory session, two 20-minute on-track sessions, plus a study into the main riding techniques with time for commenting on videos with Valentino Rossi. This will end with a final 20-minute theory session and a certificate of attendance.

Winners will be provided a Yamaha R1 to use on track, a helmet and Dainese and AGV technical racewear. They will also receive photo and video coverage of their day, as well as an all-expense paid lunch with Rossi at an unspecified restaurant.

Of course, there are a few caveats. Travel and accommodations to Misano in Italy are not provided. Winners must present a valid driver's license equivalent to an Italian license with no power limit. In addition, winning bidders must have prior track experience in Misano and must be able lap the track in 1 minute and 55 seconds.

Nonetheless it's a very rare experience, particularly since The Doctor himself will be teaching the riding techniques. Bidding ends on March 7, 2019.
