Just a few months after its grand reopening this year, Vespa Philippines is looking to solidify its presence in the market with the addition of two more models to its line-up.

In response to the clamor for higher end models, Vespa presented the GTS 150 and the PX 150 models last July 30 at the Vespa Showroom in BGC. The two models offer radically different styles from the Sprint and Primavera already on offer.

The first was the PX series, which stays true to classic Vespa styling with its exterior nodding to the form that has propelled it to worldwide popularity. In spite of the classic shape, the PX has rolled with the times, boasting of a light frame with a Euro3 engine.

The air-cooled 150cc two-stroke engine is regulated by its four-speed ‘twist grip’ manual gearshift. Just like the classic example, the location of the footbrake and spare wheel have not been changed. The PX is offered in Nero Lucido, Monte Bianco, Rosso Dragon, Azzurro Mediterraneo, and Blu Midnight colors. Prices start at P255,000.

The Vespa GTS 150 is the tourer, offering a larger body with a three-valve engine, packed with advanced electronic fuel injection technology. The bigger frame has been designed for taller riders, with more legroom and a larger under-seat storage area, with two helmet hooks.

Bringing it to a stop are front and rear disc brakes. Twin rear shock absorbers keep it aloft over bumps. Of course, the thoughtful design includes fold-out pillion pegs. The GTS 150 will be available in Monte Bianco, Rosso Dragon, and Grigio Titanium. Prices start at P200,000.

The Vespa scooters are targeted at sophisticated urban riders, owing to their ability to keep any driver’s clothing spotless thanks to its inner workings cleverly hidden behind panels.

The Vespa Showroom is located at 5th Avenue cor. 26th Street, Bonifacio Global City. More information is available at vespa.com.
