Zontes now eyeing KTM

Back in 2019, we first got a glimpse of the Zontes motorcycle brand. These motorcycles are distributed by Motostrada, the same group behind the CF Moto and MV Agusta brands locally.

We were already quite amazed by their PhP 199,000 adventure bike, the T310. Now, new leaked renders suggest that Zontes have something bigger up their sleeves. This time, it's a 350cc motorcycle that clearly has its sights set on the KTM Duke 390.

Lookout KTM!

This Zontes could be a match against the Duke 390 image

Based on the leaked information, Zontes has developed a new 350cc engine that will power this upcoming 350GK. What’s interesting is that, the new engine’s power output is nearly at par with KTM’s Duke 390, churning out a claimed 45 Ps of power. The Duke’s 373cc powerplant churns out 44.6Ps.

Features

Though many of the upcoming 350GK’s features have not yet been mentioned, the leaked photos suggest that the motorcycle will be equipped with nice inverted forks, LED lights, stylish bar end side mirrors, wire wheels, front and rear disc brakes and a lightweight swingarm.

Those with more keen eyes also noted the inclusion of an underbelly skid plate, as well as the stacked twin exhausts.

The 350GK rides on wire wheels and a covered front disc. This is an indication that this upcoming motorcycle leans toward more off-road use, possibly a scrambler rather than a standard street motorcycle.

If all goes according to plan, it may not be too long before we see the 350GK inside Motostrada’s showroom in Caloocan.
