Apache RTR 200 adventure bike in the works

BMW’s entry-level adventure bike, the G 310 GS, as well as the G 310 R naked bike, are manufactured “under supervision” by TVS in India. Naturally, with the growing market for adventure bikes, especially in developing countries, it’s just a matter of time before TVS will have its own. That time might be sooner than most think.

The Chennai-based giant is working on an adventure bike based on the highly successful Apache RTR 200 4V.

Since it is TVS that manufactures BMW’s entry-level adventure bike, some sources from India speculate that the upcoming bike will have design similarities with the G 310 GS.

Features

Though TVS has not confirmed nor denied the news, the upcoming adventure bike will share the Apache RTR 200 4V’s 198cc, air and oil-cooled engine that produces close to 21 Ps of power and 17 Nm of torque.

As for the chassis, it is still not clear if TVS will utilize the existing frame from G 310 GS or the RTR’s. Nonetheless, taller forks and long-travel rear suspension are definitely part of it, with the addition of dual-sport tires.

Some of the Apache RTR 200 4V’s features are also expected to jump onto the upcoming adventure bike, like the ride modes, a digital panel screen with Bluetooth connectivity, slipper clutch, dual-channel ABS, LED lighting, and many more.

Do you think such a bike could be an instant hit here in the Philippines?
