TVS Motor, one of the largest manufacturers of motorcycles in Asia, hopes to make mobility more accessible to Filipino riders with the release of its two new models, the Dazz Prime and XL100 motorcycles
The two new models, dubbed "Street Stunners," were unveiled at an event and workshop at the Batangas Racing Circuit last weekend.
The Dazz Prime is an AT Scooter that boasts of a sleeker new look. The new Dazz Prime is powered by an air-cooled 110cc four-stroke SOHC engine that produces 8.34 horsepower and 8.3 Nm of torque. It’s fully automatic and propels the rear wheels via a CVT and belt drive. It rides on a telescopic front fork and a single shock in the rear. It rolls on 14-inch wheels with tubeless tires.
New additions include an embossed-type emblem, shark’s fin design, and color variations in stylish white and red, daring black and red, or attractive gray and red. It features both kick and electric start and can travel quite some distance with its 5.3-liter fuel tank.
The Dazz was the first to incorporate a mobile charging port and has maintained this feature to allow the rider to charge his/her mobile phone while on the road. One feature that will come in handy in the future is the provision for a front plate mount.
The Dazz Prime comes with a best-in-class engine warranty of 3 years / 30,000 kms for its customers’ assurance.
The Dazz Prime is priced at PhP59,990.
Another model presented by TVS was the XL100, offered in both Regular and Premium trims. The XL100 is powered by an air-cooled 100cc single-cylinder engine that produces 4.3 PS and 6.5 Nm. The XL100 is also fully automatic, featuring a single-speed gearbox and a centrifugal wet clutch with a chain drive.
It’s held aloft by telescopic forks in front and a swingarm with hydraulic shocks in the rear. It rides on 16-inch wheels.
It boasts of a payload of 130 kg and only tips the scales at a very light 86 kg curb weight.
Among its unique features is the inclusion of the USB mobile charger. It also has a sync brake that allows the rider to stop faster when carrying heavy loads.
It also has ES, an i-Touch technology that allows it to start quietly. The XL100 Premium is available in army green, metallic black, and vulcan red colors. XL100 Premium comes with a warranty of 1 year / 12000kms.
TVS also offers the XL100 in Regular trim. The Regular trim is intended for those that want to use their motorcycle for business. The XL100 Regular can be fitted with a cargo box or provisions for carrying water bottles, LPG tanks or general cargo.
The XL100 Regular is priced at PhP 31,990 while the Premium is priced at PhP 36,990.

Unique activities and offers
Besides the presentation, guests were able to try out the new Dazz Prime and XL100 Premium units first-hand at the BRC, as well as sample the new decal sets.
The new decal sets were also introduced in a fun workshop where guests competed by styling Dazz Prime units with TVS decals within the given time limit. Bare decal sets were also offered, allowing participants to showcase their creativity and style.
TVS will also be offering these decal sets for the Dazz Prime at all service outlets.
