At EICMA last year, Japanese parts purveyor, Doremi Collection, showcased its “type R” package for the current CB1100, CB1100EX, or CB1100RS (SC65). The new replica kit transforms the contemporary UJM into a retro superbike or endurance racer with ‘80s CB1100R bodywork. It includes an aluminum tank, fiber-reinforced plastic (FRP) body panels, mirrors, turn signals, bolts, and more. It’s now for sale, and here are the details.
The Honda CB1100R was an iconic sport bike that was produced from 1981 to 1983 in limited numbers for homologation. Its relative rarity and important place in Honda's superbike history has made it quite desirable. It’s getting more and more difficult nowadays to find a good, clean example that’s also affordable.
Well, now you can enjoy the retro ‘80s aesthetic of the CB1100R with the modern comfort of the current CB1100 underneath, thanks to the Doremi Collection “type R” replica kit. Many of the parts are so faithfully reproduced that they can even go on an authentic ‘80s CB1100R if you’re lucky enough to already have one.
The “type R” kit by Doremi Collection fits the current CB1100 and CB1100EX, and you can rock it either as a fully-faired sportbike or half-faired endurance racer. However, the sportier and more-compact CB1100RS with 17-inch wheels can only accommodate the half fairing. These Doremi kits aren’t cheap. The full, painted package will set you back ¥748,000 while the unpainted kit costs ¥498,000 (excluding tax). The parts are also available for purchase individually.
The full set (painted or unpainted) includes the following parts: aluminum tank, upper cowl, under cowl, headlight garnish, headlight assembly, tail cowl, tail light assembly, seat assembly, single seat cowl, front fender, screen, plated mirrors, genderless kit, turn signals, and various mounting stays, dampers, bolts, etc. Visit the Doremi Collection's online shop to order the “type R” kit, or check out what else the company has to offer.
