Raider R150, GSX-R150, GSX-S150 now fuel injected

Suzuki Philippines showed off their new trio of fuel injected lightweight sport bikes at the Tagaytay International Convention Center. The  8th anniversary celebration of  Motorsiklo Xklusibo was the venue for the launch of the Raider R150 Fi and the GSX Series: GSX-R150 and GSX-S150.

Raider R150 Fi

Boasting of a 14 year lead in the underbone category, Suzuki hopes to extend this reign further with the Raider R150 Fi. The underbone's 150cc DOHC liquid-cooled engine features four valves with fuel injection. The engine produces 18.6-PS at 10,000 rpm and torque of 13.8-Nm at 8,500 rpm. It's paired with a 6-speed manual.

Vital information is shown on the full LCD instrument panel inspired by the Suzuki GSX-S1000 sport bike. It also comes with standard features like a key shutter, tubeless tire, petal disc brakes and mini storage space.

The Raider R150 Fi is priced at Php 109,900 and will be sold alongside the Raider R150 carbureted version.

The Suzuki GSX Series

Bearing Suzuki's enviable GSX badge are its two lightweight sportbikes, the GSX-R150 and GSX-S150. Both bikes bear Suzuki’s GSX DNA, being engine performance born on track for the everyday ride. Suzuki claims both bikes have the best power-to-weight ratio and acceleration in the 150cc backbone category.

The heart of both bikes is the 150cc single cylinder, water-cooled 4-valve DOHC engine. It produces 19.2-PS at 10,500 rpm and 14.0-Nm at 9,000 rpm. It's paired with a 6-speed transmission.

GSX-R150

Fresh from its debut at the Suzuki Asian Challenge – Suzuki’s single make grassroots feeder series for MotoGP – the fully faired sport bike bears an LED headlight, petal disc brakes, and a dual exit exhaust muffler. Readouts are displayed on the full digital instrument panel. It's started by a keyless ignition system with a remote control that has an answer back function for up to 20 meters and is equipped with a Suzuki Easy Start System. The GSX-R150 is priced at 156,000 and is available in Black and MotoGP Edition.

The GSX-S150

Serving as the streetfighter sibling of the GSX-R150 is the GSX-S150 naked street sports bike. This version sheds its fairings to show off its engine and frame. Like the GSX-R150, it has a key shutter and is also operated with Suzuki Easy Start System. Readouts are also displayed on a full digital instrument panel. At night, an LED headlight illuminates the road. It, too, sports petal disc brakes and a dual exit exhaust muffler. The GSX-S150 is priced at 112,800 and is available in Black, Silver and MotoGP Edition.

Royal Arrival

Present at the launch event were Suzuki Philippines President, Hiroshi Suzuki, Marketing Manager; Monch Bontogon; and Regional Sales Manager for South Luzon, Mitsunori Shiraishi. Team Suzuki Pilipinas’ Luzon representative, Eane Jaye Sobretodo was also there with Club Suzuki Raiders Philippines (CSRP).

Besides the three new models, the latest Suzuki bikes were also on display at the Suzuki Tambayan. Suzuki also presented the latest colors and decals of the Smash underbone.

Riders were treated to prizes. Suzuki owners were given Free Service by the Suzuki WOW Mobile at the Suzuki After Sales booth, which also offered Suzuki genuine parts. To complete Suzuki’s treat to the riders, the Japanese manufacturer raffled off two Raider R150s – a carburetor and a fuel-injected model.
