Price and equipment being studied

Like we mentioned before, Suzuki brought a special surprise to their booth at the recent Makina Moto Show. That surprise was the Intruder 150. Suzuki calls it a modern cruiser and it’s evident by the bike’s Street (ST) platform that provides better maneuverability but distinct cruiser styling, including the forward set pegs.

The Intruder 150 takes its name from the VS and VI Intruder offers in the US in the 90’s. Now, Suzuki hopes to make that name more accessible with the Intruder 150.

The Intruder 150 is built upon the Gixxer 150's platform and even uses the same 155cc FI engine. It features a more relaxed rake than the Gixxer but retains the high ground clearance. With its laid back riding position, it hopes to serve as an alternative to the typically sportily-styled street bikes.

Suzuki plans to offer the Intruder 150 with a fuel injected 155cc engine. It produces 14.8 PS at 8,000 rpm and 14 Nm at 6,000 rpm. It's paired with a 5-speed transmission. It will come with an electric starter, red illuminated instrument cluster, LED tail lamps, twin side exhausts, and a rear pillion back cushion. It will be brought to a stop with discs in front and behind. It will have an 11-liter fuel tank and boast of fuel consumption at 50 km/l.

Suzuki Philippines is currently studying public reaction on whether to offer it with single or two-channel ABS, or none at all. In addition, it is also analyzing the ideal price range, somewhere around the PhP 115,000 (without ABS) mark.

While the Intruder 150 is not yet on offer, you may express your interest for the model on Suzuki Motorcycles Philippines’ social media pages. Perhaps with public clamor, Suzuki just might give in.
