V-Strom 800DE Djebel announced by Suzuki

Fans of classic Paris-Dakar rally bikes will love this new updated V-Strom 800DE as Suzuki brings back the ‘Djebel’ badge.

Djebel means mountain or mountainous region in many Arab-speaking nations.

The 2024 V-Strom 800DE Djebel’s graphics are inspired by Suzuki’s legendary DR600 Djebel and DR650 Djebel of the 80s – which are also the original models that bear the Djebel badge that competed during the early years of the Paris-Dakar Rally.

The V-Strom 800DE Djebel retains the “standard” version’s 776 cc twin-cylinder powerplant with a claimed output of 85 PS at 8,500 rpm and 78 Nm of torque at 6,800 rpm. The Suzuki Intelligent Ride System (SIRS), ABS, traction control, and assisted clutch, and 5-inch TFT screen also come as standard.

What sets the Djebel version from the standard V-Strom 800DE (besides the graphics) is the full titanium Akrapovic exhaust system, Dunlop Trailmax Raid off-road biased tires, and the Hitachi Astemo by Showa longer-travel suspension.

Price and availability

As of this writing, the V-Strom 800DE Djebel is expected to become available at Suzuki Italian showrooms starting next month, with an SRP of EUR 14,150 or about PHP 866,000 (PH taxes and other duties not included). Philippine SRP for the standard V-Strom 800DE is currently at PHP 699,000.
