Royal Enfield, in partnership with Treedom, will be planting a tree for every motorcycle sold in Italy.
This charity partnership, through Treedom, will work with local Italian farmers to plant a tree in one of their community forests around the world. With each Royal Enfield motorcycle purchase, the rider will be given an option to choose a tree that Treedom will plant, which includes fruit-bearing trees like cacao, avocado, or lemons, to name just a few.
Each individual plant will be photographed and geo-tagged and will have its own “RE-owner” online page where the owner can track the growth, as well as the progress of the tree that was dedicated to them.
Each tree will also directly benefit the local farming communities. The tree’s produce will be 100% owned by the farmer that takes care of the tree.
Currently, the project is limited to Royal Enfield Italy customers only, but plans to expand it to other markets like Germany and UK are already in the pipeline.
Treedom is the first platform in the world that allows you to plant a tree from a distance and follow the story of the project online. Since its foundation in 2010 in Florence, more than 1-million trees have been planted in Africa, South America and Italy. All trees are planted directly by local farmers and bring environmental, social, and financial benefits to their communities.
Can you just imagine, if all motorcycle brands here in the Philippines support advocacies like this? Maybe we can reforest the whole country within a couple of years.
