Aprilia Terra 250 adventure bike leaked

Aprilia has been quite busy making new smaller models lately. Two weeks ago, we brought you news about a 125cc Tuono. This week, a leaked photo from China has been circulating various motorcycle news sites. It appears to be the new Aprilia Terra 250 adventure bike, ready to challenge Honda's CRF250 Rally, Suzuki's V-Strom 250, Kawasaki's Versys-X 300, and KTM's upcoming 250 adventure bike.

The new Terra 250 will be Aprilia's contender in the promising entry-level adventure bike segment in emerging markets like Southeast Asia, and possibly, globally. The leaked photo that was taken at the facilities of Aprilia's manufacturing partner in China, Zongshen, suggests that the new Terra 250 will share the same powerplant as the GPR250 sportbike. This engine produces 26.5 Ps of power and 22 Nm of torque.

The leaked photos of the Terra 250 also suggest that the bike is fitted with dual-sport tires on 18-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels. Both have disc brakes that could possibly be with ABS. Other ADV clues are the long-travel suspension and a 12 to 15-liter tank capacity, similar to Zongshen's RX3 adventure bike.

That's not all. Sources also suggest that a top-of-the-line version will also be available, equipped with bigger 21- (front) and 18-inch (back) wheels, possibly coupled with a larger fuel tank.

Will it be released here in the Philippines?

We've reached out to Marc de Joya, President of Bikerbox, Inc., the official distributor of Aprilia motorcycles in the Philippines. He shared with MotoPinas.com that, "currently, there are no talks about the Terra 250 being imported to the Philippines."

He did note, however, that their regional headquarters is interested in bringing in the Aprilia SX125 (supermoto) and RX125 (dual-sport) motorcycles into the country. Of course, the possibility of boring it up to 150cc is a big consideration.
