Expressways implementing 3-strike policy starting May 15

Back in February, MotoPinas.com reported on TRB’s plan to implementing a “3-strike policy” on all tollways. In a nutshell, if you enter a tollway with insufficient RFID load, by the third time, you’ll be slapped with a 'Disregarding Traffic Signs' violation and a PhP1,000.00 fine.

No load on your Autosweep RFID? That

Starting May 15, 2021, all tollways that use the Autosweep RFID system, as well as the Easytrip RFID system, will be adopting this rule. That means, if you’re a motorist who entered SLEX, MCX, STAR, NAIAX, Skyway (1, 2 & 3), and TPLEX with insufficient load for the third time, you’ll get a ticket and a PhP1,000.00 fine. That's the same if you entered NLEX, SCTEX, Harbor Link, CAVITEX, CALAX, and C5 Link with insufficient RFID load.

Marami ang nag-aabuso, pumapasok sila na walang load. Mayroong 50 times, 200 times pumapasok walang load. So, napagkasunduan sa TRB na to conduct a massive information campaign. (There are lots of motorists who abuse the-no apprehension policy and they enter the tollways without sufficient load in their RFID. There were those who entered 50 times, 200 times with no load. So, we at the TRB agreed to this.),” said Transportation Undersecretary for Finance and alternate chairman for the TRB, Garry De Guzman.

We're not quite sure if the strikes reset to zero or past offenses are already counted. However, to be on the safe side, make sure you have load.
