400cc and up motorcycles will need to shell out extra cash when travelling up north

Starting March 20, 2019, or two weeks from now, 400cc and up motorcycles who wish to ply the North Luzon Expressway or NLEX will have to bear an extra weight on their shoulders when traveling to and from the north as the Toll Regulatory Board announced the approval of the toll fee hike on the said tollway.

Big bikes, which are currently classified as 'Class 1' vehicles, will need to pay PhP55.00 (an additional 10 Pesos) from the Balintawak barrier which will encompass up to the Marilao Exit/ toll plaza. From end-to-end or up to Sta. Ines in Mabalacat, Pampanga, 400cc and up motorcycles will need to pay Php 258 (+Php 22) based on the new toll fee matrix.

According to the NLEX Corporation, the rate adjustment already includes the PhP6.00 fee for the newly opened NLEX-Harbor Link Segment 10 while the PhP4.00 came from the first wave of approved periodic toll rate adjustment which should have been implemented way back in 2013 and 2015.
