PhP3 - PhP6 increase in toll

There will be an additional PhP2.00 or up to PhP6.00 toll increase for NLEX users, starting tomorrow, May 18, 2021.

This is after the Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) approved the 3% toll rate increase request by NLEX. This is following a recent TRB review consistent with regulatory procedures recognizing the continuing investments of the private sector operators.

In a nutshell, if you’re traveling along NLEX’s open system, (where a flat rate is charged per entry in QC, Caloocan, Valenzuela, Malabon, Navotas, Meycauayan, and Marilao), you’ll be charged an additional PhP2.00 per entry. Once in the closed system (after Marilao), that's an additional PhP4.00. For vehicles traveling end to end from Manila to Mabalacat, Pampanga, that translates to an additional PhP6.00 (total) charge on toll fees.

The adjustment is part of the approved periodic adjustments that were due in 2012 and 2014, or seven years ago. TRB and NLEX agreed to implement the increase on a staggered basis to cushion the impact of the adjustments to consumers.
