DOTr and LTO inaugurates new district office in Candon City, Ilocos Sur

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) and Land Transportation Office (LTO), led by Secretary, Arthur Tugade, and Assistant Secretary, Edgar Galvante, respectively, have recently opened the new LTO District Office (DO) in Candon City, Ilocos Sur.

The new LTO Candon City DO, boasts computerized facilities, as well as bigger spaces to cater to its clients. The new LTO Candon City DO will serve 23 Ilocos Sur towns, namely, Santa, Narvacan, Nagbukel, Sta. Maria, San Esteban, Burgos, Santiago, Lidlidda, Banayoyo, San Emilio, Galimuyod, Salcedo, Gregorio Del Pilar, Quirino, Sta. Lucia, Sta. Cruz, Tagudin, Sigay, Suyo, Cervantes, Alilem, Sugpon and Candon City.

“As we inaugurate new facilities – present and future – we must cut processing time, no corruption, be punctual and don’t be late,” said Tugade in Filipino.

He also warned that government officials, as well as employees, who are into no good, should not be in the government in the first place. “If you cannot do good in government service, don't join government service. If you cannot sacrifice for the people, don't join government service.”

The new LTO Candon City DO is located inside the Government Center along Bypass Road, Candon City, Ilocos Sur.

According to the DOTr, it was in 2019 when Candon City established the Government Center along the newly-completed Bypass Road, and one of the government agencies that was allocated a parcel of land was LTO. The new LTO facility is aimed towards bringing government services closer to the people.
