Motoworld showcases Metzeler, Sena, Akrapovič, and Shoei

Brand representatives give talk at IR Bike Fest

For buyers and the media to better understand the special features and quality behind their products, Motoworld, one of the country's leading motorcycle accessories chains, recently held a product conference at the World Trade Center in Pasay City last March 24 during the 2017 InsideRACING Bike Festival’s first day. The one-stop motorcycle gear shop flew in product specialists and brand ambassadors to highlight the special features of some of their leading products, Metzeler, Sena, Akrapovic, Shoei, and Forged.

Shoei

Shoei, the Japanese purveyor of premium handmade helmets, has partnered with Mworld Trading for official distributorship in the Philippines. At the Motoworld Product Conference, Shoei’s spotlight was on the X-Spirit III, a brand new model in their flagship X-series of racing helmets. The new lid is built for super bike riders and MotoGP racers — with advanced CWR-F shielding, a newly developed tear-off hook, Pinlock EVO anti-fog inserts, and a new Adjustable Inner System specially innovated to accommodate aggressive, forward-bent riding positions.

The X-Spirit III’s modular padding was designed with significantly increased ventilation, to contour to different head shapes, and to facilitate helmet removable in the event of an accident. This highly advanced helmet is available in the colors Black, Matt Black, and White.

Metzeler

German company, Metzeler, introduced the new MC360 range of motocross and enduro tires. Targeted towards off-road racers and adventure riders alike, the tires with aggressive, knobby tread offer both high performance in tough racing conditions and street-legal integrity for dual dirt-to-road use. MC360 tires feature tread that’s reversible any time for longevity, if usage has compromised operating angles of knobs.

Parabola-shaped centers of the alternated-cut knobs dig in for maximum grip while knob sides withstand stress for enlarged footprints. Metzeler MC360s are certified for compliance with SNI, DOT, CCC, UNECE 75 regulations.

Also presented by Metzeler at the conference was the new Sportec Street X-Ply sport tires. The Sportec family of road tires is designated for sporty performance and well integrated to new technologies like ABS, while the Sportec Street is specifically targeted at small to medium displacement motorcycles, underbones, and scooters.

The Sportec Street’s tread is derived from the Metzeler Sportec M5 Interact pattern with grooves for increased traction on dry roads as well as drainage and water evacuation for wet conditions. Robust construction and special compounds for puncture resistance and stress makes the Sportec Street suitable even for uneven road conditions. The tires are available for 17-inch and 14-inch rims.

Akrapovič

Premium exhaust system manufacturer, Akrapovič from Slovenia, offers a range of products through Mworld Trading that are EC/ECE approved and conform to Euro4 standards. Akrapovič’s complete range consists of the Slip-On Line, Racing Line, and Evolution Line — from muffler bodies to to pipes, these exhausts save weight and maximize performance.

For 2017 the company has announced titanium Racing Line systems for Yamaha’s family of 900cc bikes (the MT-09, Tracer 900, and XSR900) as well as the TMAX maxi-scooter, and Slip-On Line exhausts for Kawasaki’s new Z range in titanium or carbon. From Akrapovič, BMW gets plug-and-play Racing Line carbon systems for the G 310 R and a brand new Slip-On Line titanium exhaust for the BMW S 1000 RR.

Sena Bluetooth

Sena Technologies Inc., founded in South Korea, is also distributed through Mworld Trading in the Philippines. Three new Sena Bluetooth products have been announced for 2017. These include the 10C — the world’s first Bluetooth helmet communication system with an integrated HD camera rolled into one device, the 10S Bluetooth communication system with noise control, HD audio, FM radio, and smartphone app, and the 20S capable of a 2-kilometer range.

The 20S’ multitasking technology provides riders with the ability to maintain a conversation simultaneously while listening to music, FM radio, or GPS. Sena’s Bluetooth devices come with an optional Wristband Remote or Handlebar Remote, chargeable via a USB port.

Forged

Finally, Motoworld also highlighted Forged in its roster — a range of tactical gear ideal for Everyday Carry fans that includes flashlights, knives, pens, apparel and various other accessories.
