The Land Transportation Office is warning the public against individuals online that are offering their services for vehicle registration and even licensing.
“The public is hereby warned, especially those new driver's license applicants or those renewing their licenses; and those who are renewing the registration of their vehicles, that the Land Transportation Office does not allow any private individual to offer their services online or on social media on behalf of the agency,”
The LTO has responded to a number of reports that certain individuals on social media are offering student permits, new driver's license applications, renewal of driver's license, and even vehicle registration renewal assistance without the need to visit any of LTO's satellite offices. These services, according to the LTO, are illegal and will be punished to the full extent of the law.
The LTO further advised the public to only transact with their offices and Driver's License Renewal Offices (DLRO's) inside major malls. The public is advised to report any illegal activities or “fixer” services being offered inside or outside their offices.
