LTO Tiendesitas now in a bigger and better location in Tiendesitas

For drivers who reside in the Pasig-Cainta and nearby areas and are scheduled to renew their driver’s licenses, the Land Transportation Office (LTO) has recently re-opened its Tiendesitas Driver’s License Renewal Office (DLRO).

The new and improved LTO DLRO Tiendesitas, which can accommodate about 150 clients daily, is now strategically located at the basement parking area of the Tiendesitas Shopping Complex in Pasig City where clients can conveniently park their vehicles and motorcycles.

The simple opening ceremony was graced by LTO NCR East Regional Director Benjamin Santiago, as well as other LTO NCR East officials.

Originally opened in 2017, LTO DLRO Tiendesitas relocated to its new location to make transacting more convenient for its clients, offering airconditioned examination rooms, medical and checkup rooms, as well as computers allotted for clients who want to register and take the Comprehensive Driver’s Education (CDE) seminar through the Land Transportation Management System Portal or LTMS.

“One-stop shop”

Because of the ongoing pandemic, a lot of LTO districts, as well as regional offices, have to shut down for a couple of days, sometimes even weeks. Because of that, it is quite a challenge for an individual to transact with the agency, and clients are met with long lines of people who wanted to renew their licenses or their vehicle’s registrations.

Gifted with the abundance of Tiendesitas Shopping Complex’s parking area, as well as being at the heart of Pasig City, we can’t help but ask one of the LTO officials present during the ceremony if this DLRO can be “upgraded” to an office where it can also process practical driving tests, as well as renewal of vehicle’s registrations – sort of like becoming a one-stop-shop for LTO clients.

The LTO official simply said “yes, that might be possible,” agreeing that this LTO DLRO has probably one of the best locations in all of their offices. But who knows? If it does become an LTO one-stop-shop for clients, it will be a win-win situation for both the government and the businesses inside Tiendesitas that need all the support they could get to help them bounce back from the effects of the pandemic.
