Last month, due to the government imposition of lockdown protocols across Metro Manila, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna and Rizal, the Land Transportation Office (LTO) has extended the validity of vehicle registrations that are due for March (ending in 3) and April (ending in 4).

This time, the LTO has issued another validity extension notice for vehicles. The extension applies to those whose registration is due for the month of May (ending in 5).

According to the LTO, those with plate numbers or MV File numbers (for those without number plates) that end in number 5 can renew their registration up to August 30, 2021.

Please note, however, that the exact week for renewing your registration is based on the second-to-the-last digit on your number plate or MV File number (refer to the above photo from the LTO). As such, if your plate, for example, is AB 12345, the second digit (4) means you renew on the second week of the month.

The LTO would also like to remind the public that they will strictly implement the observance of physical distancing and other health and sanitary protocols to protect the health and safety of their staff and clients.
