The City of Baguio will not be accepting tourists again until further notice

Last July, Baguio announced that it has opened its doors to leisure travelers and has given fully-vaccinated individuals more leeway upon entry. Unfortunately, barely six months since, the City of Pines will again temporarily close its doors to leisure travelers due to the renewed threat of the COVID-19.

According to the official tourism page of Baguio, all leisure travel requests through the city’s portal, Baguio Visita, are temporarily suspended until further notice and only essential travel will be allowed.

This also means that all pending leisure travel requests into the city are also automatically suspended/denied effective January 2, 2021.

Meanwhile, all those who were already approved for leisure travel (with QTP), will still be honored and allowed entry on the approved date, still subject to the mandatory triage procedures.

Planning a ride to Baguio this coming weekend? You may want to try other places instead. Or better yet, just try to stay indoors if you can. At a time like this, that's the safest and most prudent thing to do.
